A stream of identical Bird-Feathers sails across the water, like a freeze-frame of a murmuration of birds. Frozen mid-flight and suspended on a stem, these Bird-Feathers resemble wading birds. The visitor’s point of view shifts as they walk around the installation. The isolated trajectories of each Bird-Feather come together to form a group, a new monumental entity: a bird with the colours of a kingfisher.

Benjamin Nesme, lighting designer and stained-glass artist, founded Luminariste with the aim of bringing together the various fields where light is used: entertainment, architecture, artisanship, and digital technology. It was when he met Marc Sicard, illustrator and designer, that his desire to tell tailor-made stories for public spaces began to take shape. With an approach similar to the applied arts, and a desire to place art at the service of the city and its inhabitants, Luminariste draws its inspiration from places and events, unfolding a series of teeming, phantasmagorical, elegant tales.
